What sets emergency care at St. Mary’s apart from the others? Our highly trained physicians and nurses are dedicated solely to emergency care at St. Mary’s. Capital Emergency Physicians staff the ED around the clock, earning patient satisfaction scores in the top 1 percent of hospitals nationwide. They work alongside a team of registered nurses who are certified in emergency nursing after extensive training in trauma, advanced cardiac life support and pediatric advanced life support.
As an added benefit, St. Mary’s has central Missouri’s first Clinical Decision Unit. This extension of the Emergency Department enables the ED staff to continue initial treatment and monitoring of ED patients in a quieter environment before a decision is made on the need for admission to the hospital.
