St. Mary’s Health Center has been recognized by the American Diabetes Association for providing quality diabetes self-management education for the community.

St. Mary’s Diabetes Self-Management Program, which has been in existence for nine years, has two certified diabetes educators, Martha Fuhrman, RN, BSN, CDE, and Emily Aughtman, RD, CDE, and a multi-disciplinarian advisory board, including Dr. Alan Rauba, Dr. Christopher Case, Dr. Joseph McCormack and Debra Hendricks.

St. Mary’s was originally recognized in 2001 for providing education in accordance with the American Diabetes Association National Standards for Diabetes Self Management Education. This process recognizes programs around the country with a knowledgeable staff of health professionals who provide participants with comprehensive information about diabetes management.
