St. Mary’s Health Center Auxiliary will host the 53
rd annual Ice Cream Social on June 16 at Immaculate Conception Parish Halls in Jefferson City.
The event runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., covering lunch and dinner for dine-in or carry-out. St. Mary’s staff and volunteers will be dishing up homemade cake topped with Central Dairy ice cream. Grilled bratwursts, hamburgers and hot dogs will be served, along with side dishes and drinks.
Other activities during the day include:
- Booths with jewelry, plants, books, baked goods, toys and games, treasures from the attic, baby gifts and other handcrafted items
- Bingo
- A silent auction, including first-ever gift baskets donated by various St. Mary’s departments
- A raffle for a quilt crafted by the Auxiliary’s Busy Fingers Quilters and for a children’s bicycle donated by Houser-Millard
- Fun for children in the Kids’ Korner, as well as outdoor playground
“This is the perfect opportunity to share lunch or dinner with friends and family at a thrifty price. These days most people – families especially – are looking to have fun without spending a lot of money. What better way to enjoy an afternoon and great food and fun while helping to support a very worthy cause,” says Kris Ballage, president-elect of the Auxiliary and chair of the event.
Proceeds of the event go to St. Mary’s Auxiliary to help purchase new equipment and technology to enhance patient care at St. Mary’s Health Center.
Immaculate Conception Church is located at the corner of East McCarty Street and Clark Avenue. Ample parking is available in and around the church and school, as well as the adjacent parking lot on the east side. Shuttle service will be available.
