Heart Month is a great time to think about your health, and St. Mary’s Health Center is teaming with the American Heart Association again this year to give area residents a lot to think about in February.

The St. Mary’s Family Wellness Festival will run 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Capital Mall on Saturday, Feb. 20. The event will feature interactive health exhibits, fitness demonstrations, physician talks, health screenings and fun children’s activities. Event attendees can register to win a Wii Fit system and other prizes.

Wellness Festival activities will fill the mall’s JC Penney wing. Visitors can interact with St. Mary’s clinicians on topics such as women’s and children’s health, nutrition, heart health, fitness, sleep disorders, orthopedic and arthritis issues, wound care, home safety, oncology, and behavioral health.    

In addition, two local podiatrists will speak in the meeting room in the mall’s JC Penney wing on healthy feet, and St. Mary’s Wound Healing Center staff will provide free wound assessments. Children’s activities will include healthy kid’s snacks, an obstacle course and other interactive activities.
