Volunteers 

Volunteers are people of all ages and walks of life who, for many reasons, offer their time, talents, and energy in the service of others.  Volunteers serve and support St. Marys in numerous ways.  They work as receptionists in the main lobby and other service areas, answer the telephones, give information, assist with mailings, quilt, deliver patient mail and flowers.  They also visit patients, answer patient call lights, make beds and provide complimentary fresh beverage to patients and visitors on a daily basis. Age requirement: age 18 or older.

Auxiliary

The St. Mary's Health Center Auxiliary is a dues-paying, fundraising organization that exists exclusively for charitable purposes and renders services to St. Mary's Health Center and its patients. To join the Auxiliary, you must be at least 18 years of age.

• Annual Membership: $10 
• Lifetime Membership: $200

Medical Explorers

Medical Explorers gather concrete, accurate information about medical career options. Leadership skills, problem solving, workplace preparation, and career explorations are but a few of the skills gained through active participation in medical explorers. Students gain experience for college, resumes, employment applications, and accrue the volunteer hours needed to meet school course requirements. Age requirements: completed the eighth grade, ages 14-20. Student application must be completed and returned to the volunteer services office.

All Explorers are expected to give at least eight hours of volunteer service per month to the Health Center.

• Explorers meet the first Monday of each month, 7 p.m., September through May. 
• Start-up fee is $15. (This fee includes: insurance, sleeve patch, and dues.)

Student volunteers are an integral part of St. Mary's. Students can also lend their time and talent during the summer months and gain valuable experience in various positions around the hospital. Age requirement: age 13, or turning 13 within three months of volunteer service.

Becoming a St. Mary's Auxilian or volunteer requires a completed application and subsequent interview, which will be scheduled at your convenience after the application packet is completed and returned. Applicants may print off the online application above, complete and mail to St. Mary's Health Center, Attention: Volunteer Services, 100 St. Mary's Medical Plaza, Jefferson City, MO 65101.

Gift Shop

St. Mary's Health Center Pink Bell Gift Shop is open Monday thru Friday, 9 a.m. - 7 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. The gift shop is stocked with baby gifts, stuffed animals, fresh flowers, collectibles, candy and gift certificates. Orders can be accepted over the phone and can be delivered to patients by calling (573) 761-7000, ext. 1328.
